PROJECTS

No prior experience needed to join any project team. All majors encouraged to join!

Current Projects

The purpose of the Education Project Team is to educate ourselves, students, faculty, and community members about sustainability and eco-friendly living. Currently, we work on K-12 & special event presentations. In addition, many members are working on independent projects (check them out on our page). If you are interested in joining this Project Team, please email eswakron@uakron.edu for more information.

Eco-Bricking

Eco-Bricking is all about utilizing the non-recyclable plastics in a new and useful way. This design team takes plastic like water bottle labels, plastic bags, and other single-use plastics and create functional bricks! Visit the Eco-bricking tab to learn more or join the project team! Zips Metal Makers (ZMM)

Abundant Life Farm

Added additional solar panels and batteries to an already existing solar system created by ESDT to increase power output and storage capacity. This project included one installation day during the Spring 2019 semester where members mounted panels, installed batteries and wired the system together.

The goal of this project team was to create an energy producing micro wind turbine. This project educated students on the importance and availability of renewable energy. This project has successfully completed construction of a wind turbine!
